Not entirely sure of the reason why, but the South Circular all the way down Waldram Park Road has been closed off.

It seems there are signs saying "Collision"

I walked past about an hour ago and did see a Funeral Car that had been damaged, but only apparently a side door, with an ambulance parked in front. It looked more like it was involved in the accident than responding to it, but I might be wrong.

However, it has to be something serious if they closed the South Circular for it.

Anyone have more information on the cause?

They have to close the road if it is serious enough to warrant the collection of evidence. That doesn't necessarily mean it was serious in terms of injuries, just that there might be the possibility of criminal proceedings as a result. Let's hope that's the case here.
