I saw it recently. Has anyone got more details about the disruption to services expected and alternative transports planned? |

From TFL website: "Disruption to existing services Shoreditch station will need to close from Friday 9 June 2006 to allow critical project works to take place. A rail replacement bus service will operate during existing operating hours and will travel between Whitechapel and Shoreditch. Additionally, there will be a need to close the existing East London Line for approximately 18 months to replace existing track and signalling. This is currently scheduled to begin winter 2007 / spring 2008." Where will all those passengers go? |

Same way as they did last time I guess? Less facetiously, it will not improve the existing overcrowding problem on the London Bridge line. |

The weather probably didnt help, but the East London Line wasn't running this morning and there were loads of desperate faces out there in the cold trying to get on the London Bridge train I was on at New Cross Gate. A taste of things to come I suspect! |

I use the ELL to commute to NE London and have no need to go through Zone 1. Alternatives? Bus to Lewisham then DLR to Stratford - adds 30 mins at least. Bus replacement - who knows? I'm afraid I'll be sitting in the Blackwall Tunnel queue every morning and evening. And yes I KNOW the new ELL will be lovely and eye-wateringly gorgeous but there will be a lack of a viable alternative. Perhaps TfL would like to allow through transit via London Bridge and Bank for ticket holders whose cards don't include Zone 1 without charging them double for the privilege of a longer, overcrowded and stressful journey. Of course they will!! |

If Bus and DLR will add 30 mins to your journey how much more would be added by sitting in the Blackwall tunnel queue every day!? |

That is one hell of a time difference! No wonder you'll be driving! |
