What about a campaign to get Antony Gormley to create something for our Hill? Someone touched on it a few months back. Whether it was in jest, it would definitely get us on the map. Love the idea or hate it, it's a talking point. Maybe the Lady of Lewisham? She could look out across all of London ... keeping a beady eye out on our jealous neighbours!! |

How much is that likely to cost and who's paying? |

Corblimey gov, stick it in me straight away. Lottery grants? Euro council grants? Art council grants? Olympics committee grants? Some rich Russina fella who wants to be remembered from all angles of this great city? I don't know, but money isn't the question (yet?), it's the momentum of a campaign that produces the answer. We need a little 'can do' attitude...as long as people are behind it. |

Whatever happened to Lewisham Council's art strategy for Forest Hill, which was being delivered by artist Michael Pinsky? (see old forum thread) I thought that was a good idea. One of the plans was an art installation outside the new Sainsbury's, which is visible on the plans. We now have a rather oddly placed bus stop instead; perhaps this is it... |
