One of the issues raised at the Forest Hill Town Meeting on Monday evening was the current plans for traffic calming works on Dartmouth Road. Details on the works can be found here: www.lewisham.gov.uk/TransportAndStreets/Consultati onOnTransportIssuesInLewisham/CurrentTransportCons ultation.htm |

I see it includes kerb build-outs. when the scheme was being proposed for my road, I was told that kerb-buildouts could not be incorporated. Also bollards are essential at junctions with raised tables, as vehicles often drive over the pavement if the road surface is raised to the level of the pavement. |

lets just hope they do a good job so that in 3 months time the joints between the humps and the road isn't exposed and coming away as in so many instances in Lewisham. It makes cycling over the humps a lottery as to whether there will be a pot hole on the other side. |

Presumably this will be hand in hand with measures to reduce illegal parking? Either people park on the road or park on the pavement so people cannot get past. The problem is so bad even with the threat of traffic wardens that I have observed buses not being able to get through. Other than that it seems a great idea. |
