Does anyone know what is going on with the site behind the Bird in the Hand pub on Dartmouth Rd? They've been clearing the site over the last few weeks. Also the other site which appears to be taking forever and day further up Dartmouth Road. I can't remember reading anything on SE23.com about it's development, unlike the Finches site. It appears to be massive. Are there any drawings, plans, usage details knocking about?

You should be able to find drawings on the Lewisham planning website. Good luck...

I believe this is the Phoenix Works project. It is listed on the Lewisham Planning site:

http://acolnet.lewisham.gov.uk/LEWIS-XSLPagesDC/ac olnetcgi.exe?ACTION=UNWRAP&RIPNAME=Root.PgeResultD etail&TheSystemkey=45232

The original building was going to be 4 or 5 stories high, but was rejected. I think a smaller scale scheme has been approved over several stories. Once complete, it should be about the same height as the bird in Hand pub so wont really be noticable from Dartmouth Road, but it is one story higher due to the steep drop from Dartmouth Road down to the railway line.

I think that the pathway along the railway line will be made wider and better lighting and environment are a condition attatched to this build.

William.

Keep an eye out also for forthcoming redevelopment proposals for Paul Breen House, behind the police station on Dartmouth Road.

Is the 'massive site' further along Dartmouth Road the one off Clyde Vale? I'm fairly sure it's this one: http://acolnet.lewisham.gov.uk/LEWIS-XSLPagesDC/ac olnetcgi.exe?ACTION=UNWRAP&RIPNAME=Root.PgeResultD etail&TheSystemkey=44898

It's a development by London & Quadrant Housing Trust/Tower Homes - i.e. keyworker/shared ownership I guess.

One thing's for sure, if you look at the future growth of FH it's obvious we can't afford a reduction in those trains to London Bridge.
