Me again. I have a bit to get off my chest. I may be well behind here, and I apologise if so, but what's the situation with the old Midland Bank? Are there any plans for it? It would appear a far more attractive prospect to potential suitors than the Macdonalds space.

I was told a few years ago that it was going to be gallery space but the rent stymied that. It's been empty for as long as I've lived here (10 years) and I suppose for many years to come. Unless, of course, it opens as a combined nail-bar and bookies with an integral tattoo parlour which sells condoms on the side - we could really do with something like that. What it won't be is a something like a coffee bar, delicatessen or book shop or anything else contributors to previous strands have suggested they would like to see in FH.

Funny you should say that Brian, I've just been looking at opening my new fried chicken franchise there, as there really aren't enough fried chicken shops in Forest Hill

I'll see your fried chicken franchise and raise you a betting shop.

I could do with a place to cash a cheque before pay day.

I think its been empty for more than 10 years- I have lived here for 21 years and remember cashing a cheque there, then it shut down shortly after. Who knows- I may have been its last customer. Its a shame it can't revert to what it was intended to be- a house- however the road is probably too noisy now. A character restaurant , perhaps.?
It would be interesting to know who actually owns it, as surely they have lost a great deal of income in the last two decades.

In an ideal world, Wetherspoons would buy it and turn it into a theme pub with an all day happy hour.

Doesn't the advert say "My bank is now a trendy wine bar"?
