Unfortunately missed it. It is my favourite channel.
I am not sure an elected major has done anything for us , but again not sure if iot has been any harm
Apparently he does live in Se 23.

The Mayor of Lewisham appeared on the program, as did an independent mayoral candidate opposed to an elected mayor. Apparently 2 other areas are considering doing away with an elected Mayor.

If an elected mayor is so good why not a directly elected Prime Minister which by-passes the MP's.

The claims for the system annoy me. The main benefactors appear to be the sponsors of the system, err elected mayors, some council officers and companies with contracts with councils, such as Capita and Serco.

The program is available, one chunk at the begining and a phone-in about half way through.
