Too be honest not sure and we are not meant to recommend or attack and buisness in FH . However the company with an office behind FH station is fairly relaible. You could get car just to East Croydon. I believe trains to airport run all night and would be quicker and cheaper. Gatwick station very convenient for airport Good Luck |

Laura - if you have a car and are only going away for a long weekend it may even be cheaper to drive to Gatwick and park - if you go onto the gatwick airport website you can get pretty good deals on advance booking for the car parks - depending on how many of you are travelling it can work out cheaper than the train. |

The "behind the train" company charged me about £25 the other day, which removes the hassle of changing at Croydon at such a horrible hour. |

I will also vouch for the cabby firm on the perry vale side of the station. Also at a silly hour of the morning, it is well worth spending the money to take the hassle. |

My first post and I am moaning, doh. I Have just called 3 local taxi firms, including the ones mentioned above and they are quoting me £36 to arrive at Gatwick for 6am this Saturday! Bit unfair really!! |

To be fair Paul, any time I've ever taken a taxi to Gatwick or Heathrow it's been about that price - I was very surprised by the £25 quoted above but maybe they just got the driver on a good day!! |

Was also surprised when told but didn't complain. Was a middle of the day trip. |

Well. I think a black cab would be at least 3 figures. These guys drive to Gatwick, pay petrol, wear and tear etc. They probably don't normally get a punter coming back. It seems to me that it isn't unreasonable. 2 hours work? |

andy - don't think anyone is saying it is unreasonable! I think it's perfectly reasonable -I think the point being made is that Domc said he got a cab for £25 and was pleasnatly surprised at the price but it seems that was a one off!! |

Very true point Andy, I shall book as I walk past the offices in the station this evening!! Just the thought of getting out of a comfortable cab at 5.15am at East Croydon station fills me with dread!! |

£36 doesn't sound bad. We paid £40 for a midday journey to Gatwick. |

Always ask the office (the controller) for a quote before you book. |
