Hi all,

I have just got off the phone to the guys who are marketing the old MacDonald's site on London road. They told me that the lease hasn't been sold yet but some interest has been shown from mainly restaurants and bars!. He wouldn't give me any names.
What do you think?

Well, this has been discussed extensively here already on a separate thread (see:

I think we would all like to see something interesting there, whatever it might be. The debate seemed to be between those who liked the idea of a properly independent local outlet and those who would like to see some larger chain "validating" FH as an area worth investing in.

Both views are entirely sensible so long as those involved are competent (there are other food outlets in that general area that have not fared so well recently, mentioning no names).

Did they give any hint at all? There was a lot of talk about Cafe Nero at one stage. Personally I like the fact that they referred to "bars" as well, so long as it brought something new to the area (no point competing directly either with Capitol or Dartmouth Arms/etc.)

Fingers crossed.
