The weather forecast is excellent so it should be a lovely afternoon in Horniman Gardens this Sunday. Don't forget the sunscreen! |

You can just turn up and see. Going to a what is basically just another summer fair shouldn't require military style strategic planning. |

Didn't you have a look at the fire engine or play on the bouncy castle? |

Anyone going to these special evening events coming up at the Horniman? The 'Thursday Lates' include a screening of Buena Vista Social Club and a night of Moroccan music. |

There has been in June usually a Dulwich day in Dulwich Park 1 or 2 weeks after the FH event. It has been in the past miles better ( has more than fire engine and bouncy castle ). A number of you tend to live near Dulwich , do you know any dates please |

The only thing I can find is the Festival Fair on Goose Green - http://www.southwark.gov.uk/Public/Event.aspx?even tId=1226 It says "The Festival Fair will bring together a selection of the best craftspeople, designers, independent shops, family fun, bars and cafes from the vibrant and creative East Dulwich area." The date says 14 June 2006, which is today, but I did some more digging and it turns out it was on 14 May and was part of the Dulwich Festival http://www.dulwichfestival.co.uk I think we have some way to go if we want to produce something similar for Forest Hill! |

Thanks for your help. I know in recent years it follows the FH day.. To say we have a long way to go is an understatement. If I want to see a fire engine I can go to Stanstead Road. If I want to go on a boucy castle I better lose about 50 years. Quite frankly it was a joke |

I was disappointed with it too. I'd taken a friend up there especially, so fortunately we were able to visit the museum afterwards. I've been trying to think of what else they could put on, for grown-ups in particular, but haven't been able to come up with much. More stalls would be good, but of what? Walks? Someone from the Sydenham Society led a walk from Hornimans through Sydenham Hill/Dulwich woods and back as part of Lewisham Walking Week. A letterbox trail around Horniman Gardens? A prize draw with prizes donated by local shops - surely a good way to promote local businesses? Any other ideas?? |

I think the FH Fun Day was OK. All the kids looked like they were enjoying themselves. I've been told that the organisers had problems finding sponsors for the day, I didn't spot Sainsburys or any of the wealthy FH Estate Agents on the posters/leaflets....that would explain why there wasn't much there this year. |
