Does anyone have any idea possible business ventures which might replace the old MacDonalds? And now Aceri is closed the high street is becoming more derelict. We need an injection of bar/ coffee shop/ restaurants to really create an exciting vibe in Forest Hill, as the potential is there after visiting the excellent Dartmouth Arms.
I was speaking to an estate agent in the last few months (having recently moved to the area from Gipsy Hill) and they advised the town would be getting a £3 million "government injection" and potentially a make-over for the train station. I guess this was merely a good sales pitch....but i do love the area especially with easy access to the City. |

Some cash for the train station has been mentioned before. As for other stuff, who knows. |

If you had read the long exchanges before I was about the only person who whilst not frequenting McDonalds reconised it served a purpose and at least was better than a board.
There were some amazing mails from optimists expecting up markets cafes to move in , as I said at the time they are living in cloud cookoo land.
As I said at the time all we would get is what we have got , an eyesore |
