Today during a srtoll to our local Garden Centre (Shannon s Garden Centre, a really nice place with plenty of good plants and advice) I walked past a new Antiques dealer, on Sunderland Road. It was such a surprise. The owner is a fine gentleman with a local interest. We had a chat about Forest Hill and he said he would love to see other good small ventures open up around as it is a shame such a lovely area seem to be run down. There is in fact already another antiques shop just around the corner from him on Stanstead Road. It could become Forest Hill s own antiques and brocante small corner. Anyway, enough speculation. Other than his kind and clever nature, of course there are nice pieces of home furnishing in his shop. And if you, like me still secretely buy "brown" furniture despite the fact that it is totally "out" at the moment, I am sure you can find some bargains there too. |
