I have always thought that weekend elections (like they have in France) would be a great way to help increase turnout, especially for people who spend their working day in central London. The good news is that for the first time we can vote at the weekend. Details at http://www.lewisham.gov.uk/CouncilAndDemocracy/Dem ocracyAndElections/ This year there are some voting pilots taking place to make it easier for people to vote. One of these is early voting, so you will be able to vote the weekend before the actual election. You can use the early voting function on: * Saturday 29 April, 8am to 8pm * Sunday 30 April, 10am to 6pm Polling stations will be located at: Savacentre Car Park, Southend Lane, SE26 4PU You will continue to be able to vote at local polling stations on Thursday 4 May from 7am to 10pm |
