I requested a couple of recycling boxes from the council in late October. At the time they gave 2-3 weeks as an estimated time until delivery. So in early December when I had not received anything I sent them an email to find out when they would come. They said they had received my request although they were experiencing high demand so there would be a few more weeks delay. Mid-February still nothing. Has anyone else experienced similar delays? Surely it is in there interest to get an efficient delivery process in place. 3 months of my rubbish has now needlessly been dumped due to local government inefficiency. |

No, it's been fruitfully burned up in Bermondsey, generating heat and power. Look it at it the other way round - you've contributed 3 months of fuel |

We also had a delay of 2 months which was reasoned away by the fact 'we weren't at home to receive it'. Strange as when they eventually did deliver it they just threw it in the garden, chopping a small bush down in the process. Just keep hassling on a weekly basis was my method. |

You can now also get recycling bins- full size if you have the space. We put more in this now than we do in the main black bin. Are we supposed to use bin liners for these bins too? We also have a wormery out the back that takes our raw foodstuffs and teabags- the worms are very efficient. What would be good if the Council did little bins for helping to sort the waste prior to recycling. Any chance of this? |
