I heard loud fireworks last night (New Year's Eve). Were they in Forest Hill? Or did I hear the central London fireworks? |

There were fireworks from about 7.30 p.m. until at least 2 a.m. I was with friends in Sydenham where we set off a huge Lidl firework (I joke not...) at midnight which was really impressive (they must have used lots of these at Blackheath on 5 November!). I really don't understand the significance of 7.30 p.m. or 2 a.m. or the bits in between apart from midnight but it was driving my poor mogs crazy. Sherwood was clearly lucky to only hear one lot of bangs. Happy New Year to fellow Forest Hillians. |

I have double glazing. It keeps most noise out. Forunately my dog is not bothered by fireworks. |

We were watching the fireworks on TV and from our bedroom window. The impressive neighborhood fireworks were complimented by the central London fireworks on TV, which were followed by a loud, local rumble three seconds later. I can only assume they were the central London fireworks (on speed of sound delay) |

Ahh that explains it all. The firework must have killed Liddle. (a) do I get the prize for the most off the wall post (at it is only the fourth day of the New Year) (b) does anyone know what I am talking about?? (c) if not happy to enlighten my readers |
