Noticed a couple more shops are being redeveloped on Dartmouth Road. Part of the Sainsbury's feel good factor? One's a lingerie shop "for the fuller figure" offering a measuring service (-so that'll save a trip to Rigby & Peller!). It's not clear what the other one is - it's quite close to the Dartmouth Arms. Anyone got any information? |

Good to see new shops! (any opinions I have as to what/how they are etc. I will keep to myself LOL)
I am not sure which new shop near DA you are referring to but have seen one being done up so must be that one (will look in a while when I walk the dog lol)
There is a new Party Shop though, opened, down towards the library end. Thats fine IMHO because I hope their services will be called on in the future (apart from by usual/regular consumers) by many FH residents etc. when we have a BIG celebration for how great Forest Hill < (love it personally (bad AND good bits) <smile>) > IS (always was, just was cosmetic look letting it down - ok and some other things - I LOVE FOREST HILL!

It's great to see Dartmouth Road opening up now with various new shops, I would also be interested to know what the new ones are going to be, does anyone know? The party shop looks good and can't wait to use the Costume shop! The Antiques/Collectables place next to the video shop has got some nice stuff in there too, just have to have a good dig around! |

Have inside knowledge (from one of the builders working on the new shop by DA) that the shop is to be some sort of Agency. What type of Agency? Who knows - I have a feeling it will be an Estate Agents, unless of course the CIA are planning on moving in to Forest Hill!! |

There have been a number of new shops opening on Perry Vale as well (The road behind the station.) I've recently seen a shop which sells and refills ink cartridges, a sandwich shop, a take away and there are builders in some of the old empty shops. |

still wondering what the new "agency" will be and hoping that the new party shop is doing well (and all the other independent businesses)- I will be using that shop at some point myself, but will not be using the new "bookies" but know many others will, through personal choice - and thats ok, up to people deciding for themselves. I only gamble (now and then) via the national lottery uum ........... New shops are good! In general |
