I was approached by the Post Master a few days ago, who informed me that someone has been spreading rumours that the Post Office intends to close the Dartmouth Road Office. He stated that this rumour is false. I asked our Economic Development people to make enquiries, and they confirm that there is no plan to close this office. I am unsure why anyone should wish to spread damaging rumours about Forest Hill - particularly at a time when things are beginning to look up. If anyone can throw any light on this matter, would you please contact me. d |

I've not heard these rumours but every town has their fair share so not worth reading too much into it. Maybe someone is getting the Post Office confused with the empty shop next door? |

The Postmaster referred to 'several people' approaching him, and seemed to be somewhat concerned that this rumour should be spreading. I agree we shouldn't lose too much sleep over rumours, but I've found that stamping on them early is positively good for the insomnia. Having said that, Seeformiles, your suggestion is a possible explanation. d |
