Subway disgrace - Forest Hill central

I have been writing to the council for years, trying to get them to take responsiblity for the maintenance of the ("blot on the landscape") subway, under Forest Hill station. They claim it is Network Rail's responsiblity and Network Rail claim it is Lewisham council's. And neither side will budge. The council sweep the floor, but won't paint the walls, clear the gulleys or maintain the gutters. The council do paint over graffiti, but despite repeated requests won't make the effort to upgrade what is the main foot thoroughfare in Forest Hill. Can anybody come up with any inspiration as to how we can change the council's attitude?

I don't think it's actually that bad.

The graffiti is quite good, but I admit the gutters get cluttered quite quickly. At least it's never a dangerous place to walk through.

Hi agree
It is better than it used to be. No point spending money erasing grafiti as will be back the following day.

I think some of the graffiti is actually a community mural type thing, which I quite like. It seems to have illicit grafitti on top of it though, which is sad. The tarmac could do with a resurfacing

I walked through it the other day, it actually looked clean but it desperately needs a good lick of paint!!

I would like to see the weeds that grow from the surrounding brick walls cleared away. They make it difficult to walk along the pavement.

I have reported the overhanging bushes to Lewisham Council because it is difficult to walk along the pavement in Perry vale. They say that they are negotiating the removal with Network Rail!
