Hi, I have just moved in to the area and was told that small classical concerts are sometimes held in the bandstand within the Horniman gardens. Has anyone attended one and do they know of any up coming? Regards, Mth |

Hi Mth, Concerts happen every Sunday afternoon in the high summer months (plus one mammoth one close to xmas). You can subscribe to the Horniman Museum's monthly newsletter via their website horniman.ac.uk, this lists all the upcoming concerts. Lovely they are too. |

They are not strictly classical concerts, having a very 'world' theme. Unfortunately some git living close to the park complained about the noise so they've had to turn it down a bit. Strewth, you pay a premiumm to live by the park and have such excellent events. |

The Sydenham International Music starts on 18 May. Most of the concerts will be at St Barts, Sydenham, but I believe that one or two events take place at the Horniman |

Got a number of free events at St Augustine's at One Tree Hill as well - will try and remember to put something on the events calander. Not exactly Rockin Forest Hill (see one of my dead threads) but more embourgoisement (another one that bit the dust, can's spell it let alone know what it means). Wow the website seems to be taking off again. |

And then there's Forest Hill Day in the gardens on Sunday 12 June organised by Forest Hill Traders. Stalls entertainment and some music from the bandstand. There's also the Friends of Horniman Plant Sale on Saturday 21 May - stock up on bedding plants from the Horniman nursery. |

Latin festival - isn't this at the Horniman some time in the summer? I stumbled across the end of it last year. |
