On a rare visit to the Tescos on London Road I was horrified how scummy it was. Cars randomly parked on the forecourt, apparently for no reason, cars backed onto the South Circular, petrol pumps that were not dispensing (but no notice up saying so until one was part of the gridlock), and when taken up with the manager total apathy. Seemed that it was doing nothing to improve our community. I'll write to them and in the spirit of other postings happy to share on this website the response. If anyone interested in adding or defending please do, that is if I am not the Omega man. |

That surely is one of the busiest Tescos in London. It must be desperation and fear of running out of petrol. I think the previous petrol station actually on the south circular is Streatham Hill, almost Clapham Common. I have seen three or four cars queuing up on London Road on what is definitely a red route. The inside is fairly scruffy and the staff could do with instructions on how to treat customers. It does open earlier on a Sunday than Sainsbury but that is the only time I use it, and only ever on foot. I see it was robbed on Thursday morning as well! |

I bet they did not rob the place by car as you can never get on the forecourt at the best of times. Plus a good percentage of the people driving out of their run the traffic lights and try to cause an accident on most days. Who ever designed the forecourt did not design it for cars or pedestrians. |

Surely this is a sign of a successful local business, that is thriving...... or maybe not. For those on the south circular, the Sainbury's further along on towards Catford seems to be a little better organised. And has much better pies. |

Thanks for the replies - shame there weren't more but the sentiment is the same. I'll keep the thread informed. |
