Heard that Sydenham also has a bad record for gangster on gangster shootings - think that's where they go inbetween starting off down the Old Kent Road and ending up in leafy Bromley. Any gangsters out there please put me right if I am correct as I'd hate to offend (think there are enough people baying for my blood already)
The other one was the famous Golden Lion machetty incident (is that how you spell it) where someone was bludgeoned in the car park around 1987. Always thought it was an urban myth until saw it on a rare watching of crimewatch a few years ago when they reopened the case. Perhaps a job for you Newman when Nick Ross moves on (don't worry residents of Forest Hill....)

It's machete, or panga (not pronounced machete of course) if you really want to sound like an old hand.

I have been thinking about this the past few days.
How nice South London (namely around here) is compared to North London
Look at the past few weeks for example
Edmonton - 3 youths pull out a loaded pistol on a Met Police officer
Swiss Cottage - Axe incident
Harlesden - Mini Cab rape
Student run over in west London
We got it very sweet really, have seen a lot more Police and PCSO's out on the beat lately too!
Anyone wanna move North of the river?

Such terrible things to have happened.
My thoughts are with them, their families and friends.
I was really saddened to hear of the all-too-young 16 year old, Alexander Bent, who was killed in Sydenham on Saturday the 12th March.
And Daniel Morgan's murder in Sydenham is another life taken so early. His family are still seeking justice for this crime. Here is a link: http://www.justice4daniel.org/

Watch out in Sydenham for 6ft cats

That story needs a whole thread of its own! Strictly speaking, Forest Hill / Sydenham borders.

Pretty impressed that the panther managed to call the police - ho ho
