Hi

Did anyone see Location Location Location on Channel 4 last night? I missed it but believe it was in Forest Hill. Did they give the area a good write-up?

Yes, the program seemed pretty favourable, though I missed the introduction in the first 5 mins. Plenty of shots of the Horniman. Two of the houses featured were in Forest Hill, the other two in Brockley; both areas referred to as 'affordable' in SE London. They eventually bought one of the Forest Hill properties.

I have seen the programme too! I am so pleased I have bought a flat in Forest Hill. I feel as if I have won the lottery! When I moved here three years ago the atmosphere was so depressing and London Road in winter reminded of the setting of Blade Runner with all those run down shops! But then things starting to change and now we even going to get the Tube!! Well, we've got to be patient. It is going to happen hopefully in 2008!!!

It was a good programme and highlighted the Victorian nature of the area. Now if we could carry that through the High Street and make it a bit more pretty with a Victorian feel about it that would be great. I think the shopkeepers get a grant if they return their shop fronts to their original Victorian frontage. I heard that the Deli/health shop opposite the swimming baths did that. June in Futon Plus will probably know. A few more hanging baskets again would look great too. Also if anyone sees any Grafitti in the area go onto the Council website and report it. They are really good at removing it if told.

Did anyone see Relocation Relocation at the end of Jan 04. It also mentioned Forest Hill. Very good plug for the local community.

Phil and Kirsty were back in Forest Hill today. They were filming in the Horniman Gardens.

blimey, I saw that programme on some repeat channel UKTVG2 and I thought it was recent....but back in 2003? They were talking about 1 bed flats for £165k! Maybe our properties are worth more than we thought now!

They must like it here! They have been here many times and one time our house managed to sneak into a shot. I see Phil Spencer on the tube quite a bit and he looks much younger and thinner than on the telly.

I don't love Kirstie. I prefer her sister.
