Had some money disappear from my account so am wondering whether the cash machines have been tampered with again...Barclays branch cashpoint this time |

The cash machine at Barclays Bank looked allright the last time I used it. If they have cloned your card they will keep making withdrawals. |

Erm...yeah...until you cancel it. I wouldn't have thought the machine would have been dody for the entire period 10 March - 27 April anyway. Subsequent to my last posting, it has been confirmed that fraud did occur as a result of a skimming device fitted to that machine. This had been unobtrusively fitted - so your comment that "it looked alright" is ill-founded. On examining the machine the following day, it was apparent that a device had been removed, with gouge marks around the card slot. The lesson is that Barclays machines, by their design (recess around card slot), are particularly vulnerable to this. Avoid! To make matters worse, they have now started fitting "anti-tamper" devices into the recess that look exactly like the skimming device to which I fell victim...! |

I feel sorry for your misfortune here. If using an external machine I always feel the area to see if any unusual shapes. |
