Peckham has loads of fresh food shops including fishmongers. Also get some exotic dried fish but wouldn't know how to cook them! We could do with a fish mongers to complement our lovely butchers in Wood Vale

BaggieDave -I have to ask what exactly do you ask for in these shops you're recommending? "A bag of your finest sawdust please and some of that delicious looking parsley dressing on the side"?

TJ what are all these assumptions that I am a bearded sandal wearing vegan peacenic and if I were why does that bother you so much?

Just trying to assist one of my neighbours - are you really that jealous your side of the tracks?

There are at least five, yes five, fish mongers in Rye Lane, Peckham. Thats five more that FH, HOP, Sydenham etc added together.

BaggieDave that is a dreadful twisting of my words. I don't beleive I've ever once accused you of having a beard. I can't help but notice that you have studiously avoided answering the actual question though.

And as for foodstuffs of the fishy and meaty variety the easy access to the excellent shopping in Catford means I could buy anything I like in exotic continental outlets such as Lidl or Iceland.

We've gone a whole circle on this one - if you see my many postings on how wonderful my bit of Forest Hill is you will see Librettos and daughters - I've been told by the odd meat eating friend that it is so popular you queue on a Saturday morning. It just needs a good pub, deli, coffee shop and railway line to make the area complete.

And as for Toffee Jim, do you get your kicks following me from thread to thread having a go at me and my 'posh estate' - your words not mine. Is your life so shallow? It may amuse many of you out there, but the others (Newman, Jack, Pippa etc) are able to inject some humour into the dialogue.

(Isn't it time for someone to say "calm down calm down, put your handbags away?"
