Sainsburys claiming their Esso station supermarket is open 24 hours is a blatant lie. It is closed for at least an hour every day between 10:30 and 11:30pm when its services are most in need by regular pub users. I agree, their post-pub snacks are woefully poor, but still.

There is no other way of putting it. I'm not happy.

If they want to close for an hour a day, that's cool, but if they are going to do it, they should take down their "Open 24 hours" signs. It's blatantly to avoid people coming out of the pub, otherwise closing between say 5 and 6 am would make much more sense.

And their Bernard Matthews' Turkey Ham is £1.09, which is a full 10p more than ANY other shop in the know world.

Good point. They have not only turned the petrol station into a 'Supermarket of Lies' but their willingness to compete in a reverse price war with Harrods Food Hall certainly isn't winning them any more friends. If only Bubble's supermarket further down the road would decide to stop selling stock dating back to the Blitz I would be more inclined to shop there instead.

I do like Sainsbury's surly staff, though.

That Co-Op is alright. Their veg is fresh and they are cheaper and they always have offers on booze and Mini Cheddars.

I don't know what it is but that shop always reminds me of liquor stores in downtown LA, which is probably the reason why I always give it a wide berth.

Is that the same bubble as the one who was on Big Brother a few years ago?
