There have now been a number of requests for recommendations (builders/cleaners) within the pages of this site. I have used a number of sources for finding tradesmen in the past - with varying levels of success - but in most cases have still ended up trawling through the local business directory as well. Whilst I appreciate that any names put forward would be unsolicited, they would at least be start. As I have already picked up some excellent information about pubs, butchers, gyms, restaurants and Sainsburys from this site, why not local tradesmen/women as well? |

Perhaps because we prefer to read about local developments rather than have to trawl through what would otherwise become just another free-for-all advertising page. There are enough existing resources elsewhere - Thomson, Yellow Pages, leaflets through the door, etc, etc. No need for this forum to be deluged with spam. |

Hi Wayfairer For local craftsmen or ladies the best thing to do is ask neighbours and friends. Apersonal reccomendation is by far the best way to go. Forget directories , those with the biggest adverts are not usually the best |
