Upon the hill
whom hands could not paint
whom words could not deliver
Lies the verdance where a million ghosts still dance
between the flowering blossoms
and with chance one day too
You will find rest
Upon your didgeridoo.

Upon a leaf you will find colour
and in that colour a peace will blossom
A peace of which is place
Here. In Forest Hill.
Here, within a thousand voices
all mankind is setting with the setting sun and in her august glory speaks a voice that today our time has come
And in our time we make of all what we will.
A lambent evening, a flowering sill
A memory that once this place meant something:
and for some, forsooth,it always will.
Here is a night of passing cars
Here is just the next place on the road to somwhere else
For most.
But home it is.
Our very own Sainsburys in the sunset
The Capitol in it's white walled silence
In an orange dawn
The beggars and those, like me who fawn
at those who beg for drugs
In days bygone, we scoffed at those who drank, at those who stank,
Now we rank the scagheads
But I thank myself I grew up with a lilac pillow
where my nectar points counted for something and showed me to be a man of the world.
(oh yes, possibly the most handsome single man in Forest Hill)
It is my destiny to be superior to the underlings.
And who by fire? And who by water?
And who, shall I say is calling?
And how many nectar points......... are in the offing?

I get it! The last three lines are (mostly) from a Leonard Cohen song. Hence the name of the author, methinks!

I think he just ran out of lines, so started copying from someone else.
