Recent attempts to kick off some community action locally have made me realise that we who live the roads bordered by Honor Oak/Honor Oak Road/Devonshire Road/London Road are disadvantaged by a lack of geographical identity.
The Tewkesbury Lodge Estate Residents Association deals very nicely with the area north of Honor Oak Road,London Road, to Wood Vale, etc. There is also the local Sydenham and Brockley Societies which do likewise for their respective areas. However we seem to be outside these catchment areas, hence we ought to look at setting up our own group. It does seem that these groups are very effective in getting the attention and action of local councillors whilst the rest of us just flail around. A group has more strength and visibility compared with individuals .
Does anyone else share this view and or want to get something together? This does not need to interfere with peoples perceptions of the ' Forest Hill Community' as a whole.

I live in Devonshire Road and would welcome any ideas.
I take an active interest in local matters and have been a member of the Sydenham Society and Friends of Horniman for some time

Hello, Brian- can we join the Sydenham Society, then, and is it relevant to those of us who live here? If so, then it seems that it may do nicely!

I have lived in the area all my life and like the Syd Society I consider Sydenham and Forest Hill as twin suburbs and very intergrated.
The Sydenham Society cover both Sydenham and Forest Hill. I recommend you check their web site
Best of Luck
