Could someone please let me know what the proposals are for development of the allotments? I am planning to move to the area and would like some more information. Also, if there is an action group I would be interested in details. Thank you. |

Hi- where are these allotments, exactly? I am interested in applying for one. Anyone know how to do it, and of any other allotments around SE23? |

Just go along any Saturday or Sunday and speak to those who have the allotments already. Otherwise ring the local council. |

The Defrene Road allotment club have voted to sell these privately owned allotments to a property speculator, although a third of the members are strongly opposed to the sale. There is strong opposition from residents of Defrene and Queenswood Roads. The efforts of the anti-development group are aimed towards dissuading the members from selling and dissuading the speculator from buying, given that the land is currently protected from development as Urban Green Space. Should the sale go ahead we will be launching a campaign to prevent planning permission being granted.
The allotments are situated between Defrene and Quenswood roads. Enquiries regarding renting an allotment should be directed to:

Dear Mike
I 100% agree we need our green spaces. These developers get everywhere are are reluctant to take no for no. They just come back next year with a slightly changed proposal.
Surely the council could not allow building on allotment land. |
