How many of you have had a fire in your house or near it?
I'm sure we can all agree that forest hill fire station is an excellent service.
when i had a fire around the back of my house it took the fire brigade 4 mins to get there and i live 1 mile away!
I would like you to write down your compliments so i can print this page off and show the fire brigade just how greatful we are!!! |

Yes, Rich jnr, I agree. We had many many fire attempts and arsons not far from where we live and the fire brigade were so fast to react. I would like you to send our thanks and compliments to these courageous and profesional people. |

Sounds like j&j live in a rum area, like northern Ireland on a party night, surely not the SE23 I know?
and I agree the fire service is great but surely just doing there job. (also what where you burning in your back yard to get the brigade there in doing the four minute mile, something toxic, naughty naughty...) |

Whenever I've dealt with the fire service or LFCDA, they have always been extremely helpful, courteous and professional. All credit to them.
I think the fairly muted reaction on this site is because the emergency services are also completely taken for granted!

I'd like to show the fire brigade my appreciation for waking us up 2 to 3 times a night (every night) for no other reason whatsoever than to avoid slowing down at the cross-roads we live on.
Come rain or shine, day and night,(I must emphasize they are not on call, merely going back to base down the road) as soon as the corner of our street is within a few yards, they use their sirens for a couple of seconds to avoid slowing down thereby waking up the entire neighbourhood.
They then repreat the process at the next cross roads.
