Slightly odd (and very dull) question, but it struck me today that the pillar box outside Multifit on Devonshire Road no longer has a schedule of collections on display. Is tis just an oversight, or has this post box ceased to be collected from? Anyone?

Ring the local Royal Mail Office or go visit them in person on the Forest Hill Trading Estate. They will have the best idea if its operational or not as if it is they will pick up from it a number of times daily!

I work in Forest Hill Delivery Office. You will find that all pillar boxes have had their collection plates removed. The reason for this is because pillar box collections are under review. At present the 9:15 collection has been stopped, but the 1:30, 3:30 and 5:30 remain for now.(and 6:00 at main branch offices) If you want to know more call me at Forest Hill.

Hi Damon

Is it true that FH post office is closing on 7 May? Will there be any parcel pick-up facility or is that disappearing too?

Basically then services are being slashed all round, in keeping with privatisation.
