I live in the Brockley side of Grierson Road and am gobsmacked by the irresposible dog owners who don't clear up after their pets.Every morning I leave the house I have to pick my way through this mine field.I have a child due shortley and if things don't improve I will be taking matters into my own hands.Be warned.

Good Luck Old Brown Shoe ( is that after they have stood in the mess). It is my experience that some doggie owners are very responsible but many are of the could not care less variety. Your confrontations should be interesting

You are right - it is disgusting.

For several weeks, one particular owner allowed his pet to unload itself as a matter of routine outside my house on Westwood Park.

I like dogs but the behaviour of some owners is unbelievable. Both of my neighbours have young children...

Proposal: Bump up the price of dog licences to pay for street wardens and sanitation.

Dogs show a dog tax licence or they are put down.

You know it makes sense.

Cats pay 25%.

I seem to think that dog licences were abolished many years ago, mainly because most people just didn't bother to get one even though the price was ridiculously low 7/6(35p).It is a good idea that dogs should display a 'Tax Disc', it does work in some countries, but again most people wouldn't bother to get one as it would be virtually impossible to enforce due to the cost.

Somehow I don't think an excise duty on dogs will stop them doing their business in the street.

Or.................. you could call the environ call people at Lewisham Council and tell them where this is happening and at what time ......if known.

They will come down nice and early, watch the dog do its do do and follow the owners home to prosecute.

This is what they advertise anyway.... reality may be another thing all together
