Bird in Hand Pub - does anyone else have problems with the rowdiness outside every day? I find it quite intimidating to walk past there and down the high street at times especially at the weekends. I notice this pub is not on the pub crawl being organised - do others have a problem too. Councillors is there anything that can be done ie have the the tables and chairs away so they are not so inclined to linger outside for so long? |

I think this is a consequence of the smoking ban to be honest- smokers are now outside for longer and I've noticed people staying outside pubs for the entire evening for this reason. Don't know what'll happen when it gets colder- perhaps the Nicorette will have kicked in by then! Its boistrous but I don;t personally find it that intimidating . I think they are entitled to have the chairs and tables outside as long as they are on their property, etc. |

Yes. Those working class rowdies really should stop lingering. Make all pubs safe from such riff raff. Like the Dartmouth Arms. Jesus wept. |
