On my way to Yune last night (best Chinese outside China-Town) I spotted that the Hob has shut down. Completely empty with all windows whitewashed. Pardon my ignorance if this is old news but what's happened? Refurbishment? New owners? Property development? Or another empty shell to join the rest? What a shame, as it was great to have a comedy venue in FH. |

I'm looking forward to the reopening and to having a comedy venue that matches the quality of the performances, and I still can't believe we have such a great venue in the centre of Forest Hill! (who needs a cinema)
Unfortunately The Hob will be closed until October, so the Forest Hill Society pub crawl on 23rd September will not be stopping there (unless they want to give us a sneak preview). |

Phew, well that's great news! I have to admit I haven't had as many drinks at the Hob as I would of liked. I'm sure after it's face llift, this great building will be an attractive focul point for Forest Hill. Good times! |

I have to say that I am really very excited by the fact that The Hob is having a refurb. Being my local, the Comedy is always excellent, and it will be great for it to have a lick of paint and for the the facilities to be improved!! Can't wait for the re-opening in October. |

Question: Has there always been a MASSIVE Hob sinage on th e front , displaying a huge RAT on a mic?
As a graphic designer, I have to say it's terrible advertising. Especially if you're going through a refurb to get rid of the previous tired look. |
