Victim of its own success or shoddy organisation? I go with the latter. Longest queue must have been 200+ strong - from the bottom end of the bottom field to the top. Completely inadequate ratio of food supply to demand. To placate the bored, angry and hungry multitude they could have laid on some decent entertainment. This, however, was poxy on a tiny stage at the TOP (?) of the field. Someone somehow overlooked the fact this field is a natural amphitheatre. The place was packed and a lot - like us - would have gone home hungry and disappointed. An opportunity to show off what our manor can achieve was rendered embarrassing. |

I'd agree that it wasn't great although don't know enought about organisation to know who to blame. Apparently it was mentioned on a couple of local radio stations on Sunday morning which might have driven extra people. The music was louder in my kitchen than at the bottom of the field. Again though, I wonder that if the weather had been better, it would have looked more cheerful? The queues were nuts... as was the traffic. There were several cars parked perpendicularly across the pavement in Wood Vale. I gave up waiting in a queue for food although it did all smell fabulous... |
