had a hike along the Horniman Nature Trail last week what a hidden gem its fantastic around the pond area. dropped into the Moore Park Hotel for a much needed pint! place has gone off terribly very quiet and the decor was a bit odd - not a patch on the Blythe Hill Tavern.

Where is the nature trail and where is the Moore Park Hotel?

The nature trail is west of Horniman Gardens, running by Woodvale on one side and the Gardens followed by Westwood Park on the other. It goes all the way up to Langton Rise (no access at this end). Linear in shape, it used to be part of the old high level railway from The Nun's Head to the Screaming Alice.
I once had a pint of Guinness in the Moore Park Hotel (circa 1993) which is at the end of the trail.

As opposed to the Moor Park Tavern, which has an even worse atmosphere.

Is this another pub thread in disguise, just to confuse Baggydave? I have lived here 20 years but clearly know nothing about many parts of Forest Hill- time to get the map out.....
By the way, is the Screaming Alice still in business?

It burned down in 1936
