I imagine that SE23 regulars would be very glad to see an empty property put to good use......heaven knows there has been plenty of discussion about the old McDonalds and Aceri sites this year. Aceri strikes me as having potential as a gallery space, plenty of room, lots of wall, but would probably need quite a bit of lighting to make it work. You could also talk to the boss at Mercury Electrical which is about to close, although it may not be big enough. It might be an idea to discuss your exhibition with a representative of Forest Hill Traders Association, armed with their support it might be easier to convince the agents for vacant commercial properties to help you.

An art gallery for Forest Hill? Why not. Good luck, hope you find somewhere.

Would one of the studios in Havelock Walk be an option?

Does it have to be an empty shop- there are a few pubs in the area who allow artists to display their work, the Dartmouth Arms in particular. Also how about somewhere like local bookshops ie the one in Kirkdale, or even St Christophers Hospice where this could also raise some money for charity. There is also the Horniman...
