Anyone tried this? I love the name, and the website's very professional :)

Have yet to try it. There have been a couple of take-away's in the area that have either changed hands or been re-named (such as the place just up from the Forest Hill Hotel), so I'm not sure if The Ghurka's Tiffin is a new venture or a whimsical re-invention. The flyer we received recently did mention that the chef once worked at The Bombay Bicycle Club, which is impressive providence if true...

As no one else has replied but me - and with the blatant intent of propelling this topic to the top of the list - can I join with Nevermodern and ask if anyone has tried the food here? I'm usually dissapointed with curry take-aways (with the exception of the Babur Brasserie. They do a lovel;y lamb and shallot dish), but would be prepared to give it a punt if anyone here rates it...

Their delivery area doesn't include me, which is a shame, especially seeing as i'm such a lazy g*t.

I agree, Ghurka's Tiffin sounds marvellous, and I've also had a look at their website which I thought was very enticing. I've now recived a menu via currypost so I'll be trying it out very soon.

Erm, what is a Ghurka's Tiffin?

Cheers! Made me hungry though! I'm going out for an Indian tonight, looking even more forward to it now.

Well, I couldn't wait any longer. On Thursday night I ordered a delivery from the Tiffin and, I have to say, it was alright. Not in the league of Babur, but certainly not terrible either. I detected a reliance on dried chilli powder rather than fresh spices, but that minor quibble aside, it arrived piping hot in heat-sealed packaging and delivered with a smile.
