Just moved to the area and looking for some thoughts on places for dinner/brunch. Live on Colfe road, though location of places not an issue. Have been to Dartmouth arms for dinner - has anyone been to the Honor Oak, it looks quite new. Also any thoughts for the place to read the paper and have brunch whilst trying to shake off the remnants of the night b4 always useful. |

Welcome to FH, Benji :) There's a long strand on the Honor Oak on this forum where people have lent their views. Take a look :) The general view is that it's really nice, although kindof to avoid before late afternoon if you're not that keen on being around kids. Provender on Dartmouth Road is nice to have a coffee and something light to eat. |

thanks very much - I found the info on Honour Oak and as you say seems very positive. Will certainly try Provender. Will have a look through other enries to see what other bits and pieces I can pick up. |

I believe Tapastry near Honor Oak Park station now does Saturday brunch. Tapatry has a really nice atmosphere. |

There's a decent caff, the Westbourne, on the corner of Waldram Park Road and Westbourne Drive. |

Tried the Saturday brunch in Tapastry last weekend and can wholeheartedly recommend it. I had the healthy grill and my significant other had Eggs Benedict. Both were very, very good - but the grill deserves to be singled out for praise - substantial without being stodgy, interesting and well-balanced. Sorry to gush, but it's one of the best breakfasts "out" I have had in a long time. |
