What on earth happened outside the Capitol last night??? The south circular was closed, the were 4 fire engines, 3 ambulances and as many police cars. Not to mention the blokes in orange chemical & biological suits going in and out of Capitol. Unbelieveable scenes in the hill!!! Anybody else see this?? |

What time? Maybe BaggyDave and his CAMRA mates convinced the publican to pour some particularly noxious bitter. |

Would like to know more about this incident before I venture inside the pub again.... you don't generally find CS canisters just lying around waiting for someone to let them off- who did this and where did they get them from, and whats more important, why? I have personal experience of suffering the effects of this stuff in Northern Ireland as a child - it causes complete irritation of the nasal and throat passages but otherwise no lasting damage to most adults, however can seriously affect people with respiratory diseases, the very young, and the elderly with unpredictable results. Nasty stuff. |

Has anyone come across any further details about this or heard of anything similar hapening before? Could it be linked to extortion from local gangs or perhaps be part of a turf war? Was it the work of somebody unbalanced and trying to cause fear or harm? Rather a ham-fisted attempt if so given the high ceilings and good ventilation of the venue chosen. An alternative explanation lies here: http://www.worcesternews.co.uk/news/wnnewsopinion/display.var.1404941.0.its_vital_that_we_nab_sick_c s_prankster.php Apparently somebody, termed a 'prankster' was responsible a couple of similar incidents in Worcester a couple of weeks back. |

Did you know the Capitol had a new manager that very week? Not saying it's connected, but she must feel she's walked straight into WW1. |

I think CS gas is designed for use outside. So its effects are likely to be more serious if used indoors. |
