Yellow signs on London Road SE23 read as follows:" Advance Warning - Essential VMR Water Main replacement in Lordship Lane from 3//07 Est 3 mths Delays possible Use Alternative Routes".
Looks like this may impact significantly on bus services etc along the South Circular route.
Does anyone have any more info or know who to contact to find out more?

This is what I have found out. There will be major works on the South Circular. Thames Water are to improve the pressure in the drinking water system by laying a new pipeline along London Road & Lordship Lane. Morrison Utilities are to carry out the work which starts Mon 3rd September and will take 3 months. Working hours 7.30am to 5.30pm Mon to Fri , may also work Sat 8am to 1pm. For safety reasons, temporary traffic lights will control through traffic during the works. Any queries now or during the work, call their Customer Centre on 0845 9200 800, quoting ref BB 76914 and your postcode. The lines are always open.
