Does anyone know what workmen are doing clearing space on either side of the track after New Cross Gate in the direction of London Bridge? I presume this must be to do with the extension plan, but is not near the East London line track?

They are planning to build a bridge for trains to go from the western platform, over the railway to/from London Bridge and joining the ELL. This will mean that all northbound trains will go from the one platform at NCG without having to cross into the path of other train.

In addition I believe they are planning to build a depot somewhere around this area for the ELL trains, although I am not sure on which side (possibly behind Sainsbury's).
