We are looking to put some new flooring down in a room and have decided on laminate to keep costs down- a relative will be fitting it for us. We are looking at B+Q Tough Loc Hardwearing laminate range which is guaranteed for 12 years. Does anyone have an opinion on this or can recommend something better,or even a cheaper source than B+Q?
Thanks

Don't know about cheaper (probably not) but I think the carpet shop on Perry vale does wood and laminate flooring so they might be worth a look and certainly as far as carpets go the staff there are very knowledgeable and helpful.

Thanks, Bosco. I did get a quote from them- they proposed to fit the same B+Q flooring at a total cost of £400. The basic materials would cost £160 for what is a small room, so I could not fathom how they could justify so much for labour and profit on what is essentially less than a days work, hence my move to buy the materials ourselves and get a relative to come and do the fitting for free. If the materials were more expensive then I would be happy to pay this level of cost for a professional fitting.

Best wishes,

Hi Roz, I fitted Ikea's flooring in one of my rooms it is very inexpensive for the quality and looks great (6.99 M2 I think) it is alot better than others I have seen including B&Q - it has a 12 year guarantee as well and comes in various colours. With fitting it ended up costing the same as a carpet would have.
Good luck!
PS I have a spare whole pack of the antique finish if you need it!
