Hi Everyone
After a great day at the East Dulwich Fair last Sunday, The Forest Hill Cake Company will be at the Dulwich Park Fair on Sunday 20 May (they do love a Fair, down there in Dulwich)

Our stall will be crammed with cupcakes and big cakes. We are busy baking and icing, baking and icing, and more baking and icing - so there should be something there for everyone.

Even if cakes are not your thing, it is still a great afternoon out for all, with family entertainment including falconry displays, Bonds steam Fair, Punch and Judy show, Vauxhall City Farm and the Dog show to name but a few! Listen to local musicians, brass bands and choirs or watch dance displays on the main stage by the café.

A friend is increasingly concerned about the service charges levied on the flats here which seems to have increased three fold since the leaseholders made a successful bid for the management of the block and is looking to get in touch with others in a similar position as they no longer live in the area and the flat is rented out.
If anyone wants to PM me I can pass the message on. Questions are being asked about the justification for such exhorbitant charges and the way that the company is being run but no answers are being received only persistent requests for money.

The managing agent apparently featured in a television documentary a year ago about libel action where it was revealed that they instigated libel action against a leaseholder of another block who complained about their charges. There is therefore a need for caution but also increased concern about whats really going on and a lot of fear about the same thing happening to leaseholders who challenge their bills.
If anyone has more information to share please contact me and I will pass on the messages.

Hi all -

It's time...! My little one no longer wants to sit in her buggy, despite it being the "Mercedes" of three wheelers, and has asked if we can sell it on to a nice family.

So, our beloved three wheeler Mountain Buggy is now for sale. If you have never heard of the Mountain Buggy before, please see this link for reviews by mums on Mumsnet:

[www.mumsnet.com]

The Mountain Buggy is the smoothest running buggy I've ever pushed. Having tried all types of buggies between me and my friends, my brother's, and those that I have borrowed, I have always gone back to the Mountain Buggy.

If you are out running or even walking with another child, you can easily steer the Mountain Buggy with just three fingers! Ofcourse, it's important to have a firm grip on the handle but that's just to let you know how easy it maneuveures due to the clever front swivel wheel (which is also lockable if needed).

Just ONE owner - ME! And I'm sad to see it go...

SELLING PRICE: £175 ONO (RRP is £400+)

Mountain Buggy Urban Jungle Single Specification (suitable from birth):

All the details:

* Suitable for newborns, infants and toddlers
* Adjustable seat position from upright to fully reclined for newborn
* Carrycot compatible
* Compatible with travel systems too!
* Padded harness and crotch restraint with new quick release harness clip and safety button
* Multi adjustable handle
* Swivel front wheel for easy maneuvring or lock for more stability going across uneven surfaces
* Gear tray for up to 5kgs
* Peek a boo flap
* 2-step easy fold with quick release wheels
* Foot operated brake
* Hard wearing polyester fabric – water repellent and durable
* Easy to remove fabric set
* Rear wheel suspension
* Narrow wheel base (63cm / 25")
* 12" air tyres
Weight approx. 10 kgs

Please let me know if you require me to send pictures. PLEASE NOTE this does not include the buggy board, as this has now been sold separately.

Hello all

Are you interested in learning or practising languages locally? Language Lounge is a not-for-profit language club that has been organising free or low cost classes and conversation groups in SE15 / SE22 since 2008. We offer the chance to share the cost of a language teacher or, to learn without paying a fee, by swapping your language skills. We prefer people to swap if possible. If you're interested please read the info below, check the latest update - see the last post in this threat - and send a private message for an invitation to come along for a taster. You will receive a reply by email.

We meet on most Mondays and Wednesdays throughout the year, at The Mag, a gastropub at the junction of Pellatt Road and Lordship Lane, SE22 8HA. On Mondays we meet downstairs. On Wednesdays we usually meet in the private room upstairs which is also a great space for language groups (two flights stairs though). We run for six weeks at a time, with breaks for Christmas/New Year, local school half term hols, Easter and all of August. The current session starts on Monday 16 April and runs for six weeks until Weds 23 May. Following sessions are: Mondays 11, 18, 25 June, 2, 9, 16 23 July (7 weeks). Then we take a six week summer break, and after the holidays the next 6 week session will run on Mons 10, 17, 24 September, and 1, 8, 15 October. Wednesday sessions run on Weds in the same weeks.

Our key languages are French, English, Spanish, Italian, Russian and Mandarin. We have members who are willing to offer several other languages on request, including Xhosa, Polish and Turkish.

Groups are taken by a mix of paid teachers and volunteers. Where the teacher is paid, we share the fee among a small group - no more than 6 in a group, of whom 4 or 5 come on any given week - so everyone gets a lot of contact and speaking practice - and it's never more than £5 each. Most of the groups are free though and run as swaps. When there is no fee for the group, we expect you to be willing, if asked by the Organisers, to help other people practise your own native language in exchange. If you have teaching experience, or you feel confident enough, you can offer some structured lessons, following your own lesson plans or a textbook. Or, you can just help a couple of people with conversation practice. The Organisers will organise with you in advance.
If you're interested in coming to Language Lounge, it's really helpful if you can check your language level first, so you can join the right group. Please take a look at this and let us know which of the levels described is closest to yours: - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_Euro..._Languages - or you can google Kings College or the LSE evening language classes, and take one of their self assessment tests, or you can try one of the tests on About.com.

Everyone is welcome to come along and try a "taster" class first, without commitment.

Please bear in mind that we're completely run by volunteers, who also work full time, so it may be a few days before we're able to reply to your message. You can also check Twitter: @LangLounge for updates, and we will soon have a website.

We also do volunteer translation for some international voluntary organisations and can offer translators and student linguists interesting and rewarding voluntary assignments and the opportunity to build a translation portfolio towards membership of professional bodies.

We have a pallet of 15m squared beautiful reclaimed solid oak parquet flooring.
Purchased for laying alongside an existing parquet floor but due to a mis-calculation the existing blocks in our house do not match these are the one’s we have are an unusual bespoke size. The blocks we have here on sale are the following size.
Each block measures
Length = 22.8cm (9inches)
Width = 6.2cm (2.4 inches)
Depth = 2cm (0.78 inches)
With tongue and groove edges.
They blocks are solid oak, reclaimed from a school in Nottingham and bought from a dealer in South London. They are uncleaned but the edges are in great condition and they will look great when prepped, relaid, sanded and finished. There is a bitchumen residue on the back of the blocks but it is not gooey. We also have a large can of adhesive, more than enough to lay this floor.
£100 o.n.o for flooring and could deliver if destination near Canonbie Road, Honor Oak SE23.
