Anyone know what's happening on Perry Vale? It's blocked by police on three sides.

Just seen that trains from Victoria are currently going straight from Sydenham to LBG with no explanation - unless I am reading that wrong.

I was on Platform 1 at FH station when the accident happened at 1.56pm. An almighty crash. It wasn't until I got home that I saw the police had cordoned off Perry Vale and Waldram Place.

Walking past this evening the investigation team were still at work. A lot of damage to the car and bus stop.
Oddly there are very short skid marks.

Just went by there. Really hope no one was at the bus stop at the time.

I drove past the accident shortly after it happened. There was a man badly injured on the floor with lots of blood coming from his head and paramedics in attendance.

There seemed to be a car and a van involved as well as the bus stop. My guess he was the passenger in the car or at the bus stop. It was a nasty scene.

I hope he is ok, but I do fear the worst.

Obviously I don't know what happened, but I've always felt that this is a very dangerous stretch of road, especially considering the number of people crossing the road to get to the station. This is a key pedestrian route and really needs a pelican crossing. I can't understand why, when all the work was done a couple of years back the road wasn't improved further.

Hi guys,

The man who was hit by the car while waiting for the bus happened to be my father who is 69 years old, i would like to thank you for all for your concern.
The force of the accident managed to break both of my dads shins. However he has already started walking and will be onto making a full recovery if all goes to plan.

Hi Etemad,
Thanks so much for updating us - it's very good to hear that it looks like he'll be making a good recovery. All the Best!

Thank you for sharing the update with us, Etemad. Apart from the terrible pain, the shock must have been just awful for your father. We all wish him well.

Etemad, as above, thank you for taking the time to update everyone on the incident and your fathers condition. He sounds like a fighter with true spirit, so I wish him a speedy recovery, and hope the pain goes away soon.

As for the idiots that did it, I hope they get looked at in the dimmest light possible when the matter reaches court.

I've always thpought that corner was an accident waiting to happen. When they made the "improvements", they built out the pavement on the corner before the pub, presumably in an attempt to slow traffic down. Instead, what seems to happen with alarming regularity, is that cars take the corner far too fast and only realise at the last minute that they need to take the corner at a wide rather than narrow angle.

It's borderline criminal behaviour to speed on that stretch anyway but the corner seems to exacerbate the problem.

I've been cut up on my bike on this corner far more times than I care to think about.

On another note, glad to hear that the victim of the crash is recovering - it must have been just awful for him.

It doesn't help with people parking on the double yellows on the corner. It gets very bad on Sundays when church is in.

You often have a situation with taxi's parked on one side and cars on the other leaving passing space for only one way traffic.

Selfish really.
