I was in there Monday and it felt warm - but only because my boiler at home was on the blink. Staff said the heating was still not working.

Apparently the heating was fixed on Tuesday!

Yes I was told it was fixed on Tuesday when I was there last (Friday) night.
I wonder if they lost a lot of customers during the month without heating?

Given most of us going to Sainsbury's are wearing coats I doubt very much people have stopped shopping there. The Arctic Tundra it is not.

I doubt they lost customers because we are really not in there for that long.
However I really feel for the staff being there for eight hour shifts.
especially the night staff who do the shelf stacking that must have been grim.
I sincerely hope that Sainsburys compensated them for their discomfort.

Apparently Sunday opening hours are changing to 12-6pm rather than 11-5pm.

I've had this confirmed by Sainsburys on Facebook, the new Sunday hours start this weekend.

Oh no! Weekends inc. Sundays we habitually buy a fresh baguette late morning - between 11 and noon for lunch. Change in hours not good for us at all!
Is this all Saino's or just FH?

According to Sainsburys the Sunday hour change is "for our convenience". I don't remember anyone asking me if I felt a change in hours was needed.
I guess their Sunday roast produce is going to dry up.

So next I forget some vital ingredient for Sunday lunch I won't be able to get it from Sainsburys in time? That's nuts.

The Dog Kennel Hill Sainsburys keeps the old 11am-5pm opening hours and Sainsburys Local at HOP is open from 7am.
I've been past FH Sainsburys on a Sunday evening around 5.30 and always surprised to see people heading up there thinking the store is still open as the employees continue to stack shelves before going home.
This decision is probably down to customer demand being more between 4-5pm than from 11am-noon to even out the rush before the store closes.

We're at the other end of the clock, eating-wise. When we discover we've forgotten a vital Sunday roast ingredient (such as stock cubes or tonic) it's usually about three minutes to 5pm. So we're all in favour of the Sunday shift!

I'm in the same boat as Mr Numbers. Sunday lunch is not a major event in our house and is often down at one of the nice cafes. But occasionally I do want to go shopping on a Sunday morning (well before 11am).

I wish we could return to the time when hardly any shops were open on a Sunday.
That way ALL members of the family could sit around the table together on a Sunday.
