No problem, I thought. I'll get a bus.
Everyone in Forest Hill has had the same thought, alas, as has everyone else previously on the route - so after watching a few go by and not getting on, and then doing my best drowned rat impression after the heavens opened, I'm back home, ready to "dial in" remotely.
Good job we've still got power, really.

Watched a rather large tree come down on a house in Caitling Close off Dacres Road about an hour ago, 4 ambos, 2 fire trucks and some cops. Great response by all the services. I hope everyone is OK in there

Any impact in Forest Hill from the 'Great Storm of 2013'?

Rail wise, Southern's temporary timetable has meant there is currently only ONE train per hour to East Croydon and Caterham.
The northbound line is closed due to a fallen tree between FH and Sydenham.
London Overground services are starting from New Cross Gate.
If possible, use the bus to get around today.

I thought that so much 'orc work' had been done to the embankments in the past few years that there was very little chance of any trees falling on the line.......time to get the axes out again?
