Have come back to fh after a few years away and just had to say how great the high street was becoming - great selection of independent cafes, galleries, bars and shops! Great stuff. Dare I say - much better than even ED. it's great.

The only problem is the occasional bit of low lying smug.

Its so encouraging. I've been living in Forest Hill now for 3 years and there has been a significant change in that time. Lots of hard work from lots of community spirited people. Its a good place to live!

Not to be downbeat, but id love to know how traders here are actually doing? Are they making ends meet? I manage a shop and when i think about their footfall, rents and so on I wonder if everything is okay for them.

Lillam as a local trader I can personally say I will be staying for a long time and earn an OK but not great living, this is due to my loyal regular customers that support the independant shops in the area. Thats what community spirit is all about, and thats what FH is all about. If locals support independant shops they will allways be there!

Not a trader myself, but did notice that relative newcomer Berries is on the market. Not necessarily an indication of slow trade, could be for any reason...
