I was thinking something similar Nomadic. It is difficult to be sure, as the exact method isn't publicised, but it looks as though the cycle comparison used is for a fast cyclist who is prepared to use the main roads. Useful for some, no doubt, but pretty misleading I suspect for the majority who use public transport currently.
