i live near the pool, and it's only a short walk to just a great butcher & fishmonger called billings, just beyond sydenham station. you can get decent fruit and veg nearby too.

i know it's not quite se23, but it's pretty local, and such a pleasure to be able to buy quality meat and fish that's not been sweating away in supermarket packaging, and to be able to ask for advice on cooking, or which cuts of meat would be best.

right. that's my favourite thing near forest hill...........

and the horniman museum & gardens are my favourite things that are actually in forest hill! i'm sure the pool willbe right up there when finished, though....
